Russian State Library for Young Adults
About the organization
It was founded in 1966 at the youth branch of the State Public Historical Library.
Today the fund of the Russian State Library for Young Adults has about 900 thousand publications, including over 650 thousand copies of books and magazines (about 500 titles). More than 1000 CDs and DVDs with audiobooks, 400 videos, more than 70 thousand records, 36 thousand sheet music are available to users.
The Russian State Library for Young Adults has the status of an information and consulting center for youth work for a network of youth libraries in Russia as well as for other public libraries serving young people. It is a model and a base for testing new forms and methods of working with young people for public libraries in Russia designed to facilitate the interaction of libraries with each other, embedding them in the global library environment, and introducing the ideas of specialized library services into public consciousness.
The library implements the project "E-library "Youth of Russia " that is a database on youth policy and youth work (books of the XIX–XX centuries, modern book on youth, publications in periodicals, etc.).
