Department of Social and Youth Policy of AltSU
About the organization
The department was established on September 1, 2021 by merging two departments: psychology of communication and psychotechnology and social work.
The Department of Social and Youth Policy has created conditions for the implementation of scientific, volunteer and project activities of students. Students are actively involved in scientific research, opinion polls, conferences, forums, as well as volunteers to work with various vulnerable categories: with children with special needs, including with severe mental disorders, with adolescents in conflict with the law, the elderly, etc.
The main scientific directions of the department include:
• Sociology and psychology of youth,
• Sociology of safety, risk and deviation,
• Sociology of health,
• Ethnic and migration processes,
• Sociology and psychology of aging,
• The state of civil society,
• Theory, history and practice of social work: standardization and evaluation of the effectiveness of social work,
• Independent assessment of the quality of social services,
• Transformation of the child welfare system,
• Innovative technologies of social work, etc.
