Since 2014 the World Youth Skills Day has been celebrated on July 15. This day has been introduced by the UN General Assembly in order to emphasize the role of teaching young people the skills they need to get a decent job and do business.
In 2024 the topic of the holiday is "Youth skills for Peace and Development".
In this context, special attention should be paid to the problem of NEET-youth – these are young people who do not study, do not work and do not receive vocational training.
Our library contains a selection of publications based on the results of sociological research, which give a portrait of this population group in the CIS. Projects and programs aimed at reducing youth unemployment are presented.
