May 15 – the International Day of Families

15.05.2024

The holiday was fixed by a resolution of the UN General Assembly in 1993. This holiday helps to draw the attention of the public of the countries to the problems faced by families and spread information about how socio-economic and demographic processes affect the situation of families.

Each year a specific topic is chosen for the International Day of Families. Thus, the topic of 2024 is "Family well-being and climate change."

One of the collections in the library contains publications on the situation of families in the CIS member states. In it you will find statistical and information-analytical materials. The publications highlight the directions of state family policy and reproductive behavior.

Our library is currently preparing its own publication on reports on the situation of children (and families with children) in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Next week it will be published on our portal and in VK and Telegram accounts.
