It will be held on October 11-13, 2022 in Moscow. The event is organized by the Russian State Library for Young Adults together with the Margarita Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature.
The purpose of the Forum is to promote the development of professional motivation among youth library specialists, form the image of the library as an object of youth career strategy, assist in self-realization, self-determination and self-presentation of library youth, and guide for library professions.
Employees of libraries of all the systems and departments, representatives of professional public associations, and students of library faculties of universities and secondary specialized educational institutions are invited to take part in the Forum. Additionally, young people working in libraries from the CIS Member States, representatives of foreign libraries and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) are allowed to participate.
The selection of the event participants is carried out at the regional level by the cultural authorities / central libraries of the subjects of the Russian Federation by holding competitions based on the submitted youth library projects (both implemented and accepted for implementation).
Possible thematic blocks (nominations) for regional selection are as follows:
- Promotion of local cultural heritage in the library;
- Ecology of reading: increasing the prestige of books and information hygiene;
- Library as an open and inclusive environment: ensuring equal opportunities for everyone;
- Library and creative industries: how can a library become a creative factory;
- Multicultural world in the library: development of local ethno-cultural and linguistic diversity.
The All-Russian Contest for Best Youth Library Project is being held within the framework of the Forum. Each region is ought to present one project that has passed the regional selection.
Registration for the event is carried out by filling out a special form on the official website of the Forum.
