May 15 – International Day of Families

15.05.2023

This holiday established established by the UN General Assembly in 1993 was proposed in order to attract public attention to the numerous problems of families.

Thanks to its implementation, specialists have the opportunity to raise awareness of issues related to families as well as deepen knowledge of socio-economic and demographic processes affecting the situation of families.

Each year the holiday is dedicated to a certain theme. This year the impact of demographic trends on the family as a public institution is highlighted.

Our electronic library contains the collection "State family policy in the CIS: regulatory legal acts" .

In it you can find regulatory documents on the implementation of state family policy in the CIS Member States. In particular, they consider the policy towards a young family.

Future specialists in the field of family and social policy are trained at universities, as part of bachelor's and master's degree programs. We offer you to familiarize yourself with one of the textbooks of 2019 – "Family in the system of social institutions of society".

It defines the functions and features of the family structure, examines the features of the family as an object of social sciences research, identifies transformational processes in the functioning of the family in Russian society, and also considers other issues.
