She teaches at the Faculty of Social Communication at Moscow State University of Psychology and Education (MSUPE). Her research interests include the sociology of childhood, the sociology of youth, the use of Internet technologies in teaching sociology, and social engineering.
Svetlana Mayorova-Shcheglova is the Chairman of the research committee "Sociology of Childhood" of the Russian Society of Sociologists. This committee promotes the consolidation of Russian scientists and researchers and contributes to the effective development of topical issues in the field of sociology of childhood.
Svetlana Mayorova-Shcheglova also coordinates the project of young sociologists "Youth studies youth".
