March 24 – International Day for the Right to the Truth Concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims

24.03.2023

The holiday was approved by the UN General Assembly on December 21, 2010. It is intended to remind of the importance of the right to truth and justice.

On this day a tribute is paid to the memory of Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero, who was assassinated on March 24, 1980. He has consistently condemned the human rights violations of the least protected people in El Salvador.
