The forum was dedicated to the topic "The CIS Libraries in a global context".
The event, in which the e-library "Youth of the CIS" took part, was held today in a hybrid format at the Margarita Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature.
The forum was organized with the support of the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations) Russian Language Centre at the Russian State Library, the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation of the CIS and the Section of the Russian Library Association for International Activities.
The forum participants were heads and specialists of libraries of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, heads and representatives of professional associations, teachers and students of library disciplines.
Within the framework of the session "Global trends in libraries of the CIS countries" the staff of the e-library Artem Turenko and Yulia Golovnya discussed the contents of the Trend Report IFLA 2022 dedicated to strengthening international cooperation of libraries. Based on the results of the group work, recommendations were given for the professional communities of the CIS countries on the development of librarianship.
