20.03.2024

Earlier we have introduced you to the Department of History, Theory and Practice of Social Communications and presented its documents in the collection on our website. Today, under the heading "Cases of successful practices", we want to tell you about the department's project in the field of volunteering.

In the last few years a network of regional volunteer resource centers has been developing in Russia, which is formed by the Association of Volunteer Centers. Such centers create an effective infrastructure to support volunteering in Russia as well as a system of its constant support.

There are also resource centers in higher education institutions. Such a center has been operating at UdSU for 10 years. In 2014 teachers and students of the department took the initiative to create a Resource Center for Volunteering and Mentoring.

Today the center is part of the Institute of Social Communications of UdSU. Students of the direction "Organization of youth work" have been actively participating in volunteer activities. Within the framework of the discipline "Volunteering" based at the Resource Center students hold events and participate in various areas of volunteering such as:

Event volunteering

Strategic session "Volunteering is the norm of life";

Choral festival "Composers of Udmurtia for children".

Ethnic volunteering

The zonal seminar of the school of ethnic volunteers "House of Friendship of Peoples" in Glazov. Under the guidance of a mentor a track on the topic "Media Ethnovolontery" was held.

Inclusive volunteering

Educational volunteering

The social project "I choose life" is based on the Russian Movement of Children and Youth to provide assistance to minors studying in professional educational organizations of Udmurtia who are in a difficult life situation.
