The event is attended by 50 representatives of the rector and vice-rector community, heads of educational work units and leaders of student associations from Slavic universities and Russian partner universities.
Slavic Universities are higher education institutions that were founded thanks to intergovernmental agreements between Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Tajikistan. They are institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and carry out their activities simultaneously in accordance with the legislation of the two signatory states.
On the Russian side the partners of the Slavic universities are Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Siberian Federal University.
The Congress is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and RTU MIREA acting as the basic organisation of the CIS Member States for working with youth.
During the opening day at RTU MIREA within the framework of the strategic session "Further development of youth policy and educational activities in Slavic universities" discussed such topics as:
- existing experience,
- practices and projects,
- modern challenges faced by Slavic universities in the implementation of youth policy and educational activities.
The plenary discussion was led by Grigory Petushkov, Vice-Rector of RTU MIREA, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia. He also presented the system of educational work and directions of youth policy of RTU MIREA.
