An Expert Council on Youth Policy, Culture, Education and Child Safety has been established in the Russian Federation

It includes more than fifty specialists from different regions. They are experts in education, culture and youth policy as well as representatives of government agencies, public organizations and educational institutions.

The first meeting will be held on November 14 in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. There the issues of ensuring children's safety on the Internet and bullying prevention will be discussed.

The council's areas of competence will include such issues as:

- cultural and creative development of children and youth,

- development of proposals to improve child protection legislation,

- legal education of schoolchildren,

- vocational guidance of schoolchildren.

In addition, the council will work on programs to support the institution of the family and promote traditional values.

The new structure will be headed by Alexander Solonkin, who is an adviser to Boris Chernyshov, vice-speaker of the State Duma in charge of youth policy.
