The activity of student construction brigades (SCB) in the period from 1971 to 1980 is considered as an example of student self-government. In addition to the main tasks such as the implementation of construction work by students in the summer, the SCB on the basis of complete independence organized work, life and leisure of studying youth, held propaganda and cultural events among population, worked with pioneers and schoolchildren and provided assistance to local Komsomol organizations.
