At the beginning of the article the author asks two questions "Are modern Russian teenagers patriotic?" and "What recommendations for the development of a system of patriotic education can be made based on the results of sociologists?" The following are the results of the study. The survey was conducted in 2010 and covered 13 Regions of Russia. Almost two thousand teenagers aged 10 to 15 years were surveyed. Representation was carried out according to three parameters such as gender, age cohorts and type of settlement (urban/rural population).
