It analyzes how the institutional transformations of the transition from secondary to higher education (the introduction of the Unified State Exam) lead to the reproduction of previous and the emergence of new forms of social inequality and territorial and settlement restrictions in access to higher education, which differ in the level of quality of training and future economic benefits in the labour market.
