This article highlights the stages, directions, and forms of social adaptation of orphans and children without parental care in the conditions of a non-profit organization. The problem of social adaptation of orphans in the conditions of a transforming society as an independent scientific problem is considered mainly in a fragmentary manner which does not give a holistic and systemic view for the development of ways to solve it within the framework of the social policy of the state and the actualisation of the efforts of civil society.
