The reference gives an idea of the development of student teams in the CIS Member States over the past 30 years.
The summer work semester of student teams is coming to an end. This form of youth employment has existed for more than 60 years. During the Soviet period this movement gained a wide scope. Young people worked on the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, the Abakan-Taishet railway and many other facilities.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union the organization "All-Union Student Construction Teams" ceased to exist. Only by the beginning of the 2000s the tradition of student teams begins to revive. In 2003 the initiative was supported by the state. On July 9 a meeting of the Government Commission on Youth Affairs was held in Moscow, where the issue of "State support for students and student teams" was discussed. On February 17, 2004 the All-Russian Forum of Student Teams was held in the State Kremlin Palace.
Nowadays student teams are also very popular. Thanks to the efforts of the construction teams, for example, the facilities of the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan as well as the facilities of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi were erected.
In the new analytical statement we present an overview of the current state of student teams both in Russia and in other CIS countries.
