Annotation

The results of a study of problems from elementary school mathematics textbooks from 1996 to 2021 are presented. The author comes to the conclusion the texts reflect changes in attitudes towards childhood, new everyday practices including narrowing the subjectivity of the younger generation, focusing children’s lives on study, sports, restrictions on children’s independence and greater involvement of parents in the children’s lives of schoolchildren, narrowing child labour practices, self-care and early consumer and financial behaviour.
