Annotation
The article presents the specifics of the new role of the modern generation of children, namely the role of consumers. The concepts characterising children-consumers that have been developed in the literature are outlined. Special attention is paid to the description of the components of the social role of children-consumers. Approaches to the assessment of children's involvement in the situation of consumption are indicated.
