In the prepared collection the general marriage and divorce rates are calculated as the ratio respectively of the number of imprisoned and dissolved marriages during a calendar year to the average annual population. Information on births and deaths is obtained using the annual statistical collection of data contained in the second copies of civil status acts on birth compiled by the civil registry office. The number of births includes only those born alive.
