Biography
Svetlana Mayorova-Shcheglova is a specialist in the field of sociology of childhood.
In 1987 she graduated from the Komsomol Higher School (since 1990 – the Institute of Youth, since 2000 – Moscow Humanitarian and Social Academy, since 2003 – Moscow State University for the Humanities).
In 1994 she defended PhD thesis on the topic "Ideals and value orientations of modern teenagers of the 90s".
In 1999 she defended doctoral dissertation on "Childhood as a social phenomenon (The concept of social construction of childhood)".
Svetlana Mayorova-Shcheglova has worked at the Institute of Youth, Moscow State Social University (now Russian State Social University), Russian State University for the Humanities. From 2016 to 2019 she taught at the Faculty of Social Communication of Moscow State University of Psychology and Education.
Scientific interests: sociology of childhood, sociology of youth, use of Internet technologies in teaching sociology, social engineering.
Member of the International Sociological Association. She is the author of more than 100 scientific publications.
