Biography
Elena Kolosova is the head of the Department of Sociology, Psychology and Pedagogy of Children's Reading at the Russian State Children's Library, Associate Professor at the Russian State University for the Humanities and Deputy Chairman of the Research Committee "Sociology of Childhood" of the Russian Society of Sociologists.
PhD thesis: "Children's reading in modern Russia: social functions, structure and practices" (2011).
Scientific developments and publications are devoted to the reading of the younger generation (peculiarities of text perception, reading culture, reading technique, basic reading characteristics). As part of her professional activity, she is engaged in conducting sociological research in the field of children's reading in partnership with leading research centers. She is actively working on the dissemination of practical methods for studying children and children's reading: manuals, methodological seminars on the basis of the Russian State Children's Library for library specialists, psychologists, teachers, students of humanities on the problems of studying children's reading and literature for children.
