March 21 – World Social Work Day

On the initiative of the International Federation of Social Workers and the International Association of Schools of Social Work this holiday has been celebrated since 1983 in more than 140 countries around the world.

Every year the holiday is dedicated to a specific topic. This year it is "Respecting diversity through joint social action".

Every year, every third Tuesday in March, this holiday is celebrated in order to attract the attention of governments and government agencies around the world to the prevention of social insecurity and overcoming social problems.

On this day the global organization of social workers stands for social justice and the protection of human rights, promoting best practices in social work.

The library has several documents dedicated to the state of affairs in the field of social work in three CIS countries: the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Among the publications there are both regulatory and legal documents as well as methodological materials.
